Being Online as a Feminist

20-2-2020

We joined the global feminist movement for digital rights towards the end of 2017, by adding Feminist Internet to our major themes. We caught up by translating The Feminist Principles of the Internet, and making this manifesto our base for knowledge production. Followed by two series of translation into Arabic, Imagining a Feminist Internet and Building a Feminist Internet. Our third series presents original writings from our collective members themed Being Online as a Feminist. This series beings with a research titled Where’s the party at?’ an attempt to understand and analyze different cultures of the internet, and to record harmful social norms that tolerate violence against women, in particular. Complemented by ‘Our Virtual Histories’ which brings together glimpses of two personal accounts of feminists “just being online.” The last text in this round is titled ‘Parallel Routine’ which traces digital feminist movement.

This is a living publication, we’ll continue adding writings throughout 2020.
